Acerca de mim

The routine upset me so I waited until I found myself in the right frame of mind and I made it happen. I am living a great and hard adventure, that I expect every day to overcome. For me life must be lived day by day, taking the most important of it. When someone ask me: “but why Edinburgh?” I replies that is the Tibet nearest to Portugal. I try every day to keep a smile on my face, a sunny smile, even when my heart is sad, sunless day are long and slow to go. I found that my family and friends give me the strength to keep on going with the present. Ilse Furtado

«Hello everybody!
I came here from Portugal. I have been living for six months in Edinburgh, Scotland. Before I came to live here, I had visited a few European countries, such as Spain, France and England, but my family and I luckily decided to live, work and study in Scotland.
When I was a child I read a book about Scotland, witch was fascinating me and I have wanted to know this country ever since. With some difficult we head here last August after doing some savings to make this wish come true, I realized the description of an old city - Edinburgh – with a wonderful landscape in the book, was true. The city of Edinburgh seems small but it is not, Edinburgh never ending, I am taking it all in, little by little!
There are a lot of things I love here, I will just write about four:
·         I like the good manners of people in shops, in queue and on public transport; they use all the time expressions like sorry, thanks and cheers that is fun and elegant.
·         I really like the way of thinking, therefore, the way of acting, the British people are very different from Latin people, in fact, here nobody talks about you if you are fat and you are using a big mini and yellow skirt, or if you dress in red from head to foot. The main thing is to have self-confidence that will help you in your entire life.
·         The other thing, I like, is to see the number of beautiful babies and how they smile; I think the birth rate is up here?
·         Finally I have never seen so many people treating as gently pets as this country, I never seen a homeless dog, on the contrary, they are well-kept with respect that is way they have such refined manners!
Actually I am improving my English in Community- based ESOL at Duncan Place and I am making the most of all the opportunities life gives me!
Sincerely,
Ilse F. »
Simples, não é? Espero que tenham gostado!
Bye!
